...the saddest part is that, by making the undead curse into a sex thing and hollows into nymphos, it makes the whole situation far, far clearer how it feels for those that haven't gone full hollow yet.

Hell, I feel like I understand the dark souls series to a far greater extent due to this. Since we play as the chosen undead, we don't really have anything in the way of characerization that makes it clear what the hell we are feeling. "he seems to be doing fine." But now that I think of it as a constant craving and instinct like this... it makes a lot more sense.

Obviously, it is more going number than going horny for undead. But... damn it... I can apply this actually makes the unkindled hero in DS3 make much more sense. From the 'asshole ending' (the hidden one- the 'wait, I can move in this cutscene?' ending), if I just think of the player character as having a constant, over powering craving, then it makes more sense.
