Theo van den Boogaard is a Dutch cartoonist, most well known for the "Sjef van Oekel" series and for the artworks he made for the Dutch trains.

This artist likes to shock the public with sexual incorrectness. Witje was a character that appeared in his first published comics in 1967. This one is made between 2007 and 2009. He used Witje again to comment on the current affairs in the news. (Frankly, the success of this comeback of Witje is debatable.)
