I'm not sure I get it. Is Marisa envious of Reimu's carefree attitude or scared of it? Like I feel like she is testing her to get some kind of reaction, and obviously it never comes. Maybe she feels Reimu is more witchey than herself.

So for you guys who doesn't understand, here's the deal with this doujin.

It's an allegory of Zounose's reader on expecting something dark to happen, but it never did. Marisa's potion is made by using the deepest, dankest, cruelest, immoral, and most sinister ingredients available in Gensokyo, but then Reimu, as a representation of the author, said to Marisa (the reader) in playful musing that "Dude, stfu it's just red, stupid" and proceed to paint the Ofuda (Zounose's work) like usual with Marisa CLEARLY missing the point of the color red (Alright, be honest here, who thought that the paint being passed through generations of Shrine Maidens are made of their "Fresh Blood" the first time they read this?). It's the perfect self-parody that ended with both Reimu and Marisa making sure that Sakuya is looking forward to the next Ofuda (Zounose's work) because as Sakuya said: "The previous Ofuda made Remilia looked like discarded trash", as if it was a challenge for Zounose to write more engaging, sinister, dark works, but that's not in this doujinshi.

...Or I'm just really, really looking too much into this.
