TRO 3085, proving that even in the far future of giant mechs, there is still room for cannon fodder of the flesh and blood variety. TRO 3085 is the only TRO to my knowledge that actually talks about infantry in the BT universe, and is one of my favorite for it.
once again with the ignorant kids throwing around words they don't know the meaning of. Please do some research before you make unsupported claims. And I'd love to see the zaku that is supposedly a 1-1 copy.
"Two arms, two legs, and a head? What a Zaku rip-off."

I rather like Battletech's approach to 'mechs and conventional armor/troops. It ensures that most of everything still plays a vital role in warfare even if giant robots are the main focus.
Basically, Battlemechs (the giant robots) are the most versatile out of the armed forces due to lots of advances in balancing technology, fusion engines, and artificial musculature. This means that they can carry tons of weaponry and armor while still maintaining a lot of speed and maneuverability, which is why they're considered the kings of the battlefield.
But vehicles are much cheaper to maintain and procure, and are frequently used as cheap specialist vehicles for a variety of combat roles or as high-tech vehicles that can pose a huge threat to 'mechs of equivalent weight.
Infantry are the cheapest of all to maintain and train, and they're usually not so useful against much of anything in an open field. But stick 'em in an urban environment or a dense wooded area, and they can be a real pain in the ass to dislodge unless you got dedicated anti-infantry weapons around. This goes doubly so for Battle Armor-equipped troops, which can also double as anti-infantry and can kill Battlemechs if they play their cards right.
Aerospace Fighters (planes, starfighters) can absolutely fuck Battlemechs up the ass with little chance of reprisal unless the 'mech forces have dedicated AA units. But much like air forces IRL, they can't usually hold ground very well.
I totally agree ExecutorBill. Also on the topic of zaku rip offs, there is a BT mech that actually looks like a zeon mobile suit complete with monoeye. Forgot what it was called.
you're a funny kid IaY, especially when the http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Tiburon Tiburon looks way more like a zgok anyways. And to use your term, the karhu is not a 1 to 1 copy. Either use the proper term, or get your eyes checked, not to mention you said it is a 1 to 1 copy of a zaku. A zgok is not a zaku. Can't even get your terms correct and you are still trying to act like you know shit. And lastly, nice job ignoring the fact that you don't even know what is up with battletech using macross designs. Pro tip, it's not ripping off or stealing, when you get the lincisining to use the designs. Please do us all a favor and do some actually research before you open your mouth again kid.
and I'll even preemptively counter what you are going to say next, there is indeed a similarity between the Zgok and the Karhu, but not even a big one. no where near the 1 to 1 ripoff you claimed. The tiburon is closer to the zgok than compared to the karhu. Not to mention, and I do feel it is necessary to point this out again, you claimed the Karhu is a 1 to 1 ripoff of a zaku. Zakus are not zgoks and look nothing like zgoks.
