Part four has a character give a lecture about the merits of masochism to Medaka while she flies into the stars as an enlightened god and then pets her for submitting to her and agreeing to be her slave.

I think we're all guilty of enjoy fucked up porn of characters we like, and I think this is the case here, thus the subtle touches like her little aghoe hair bit swishing around when she's happy or excited.
