Thank you for uploading these.

The art in and on this magazine has been such a huge influence for me and hundreds of thousands of other people. It's so great to see it here!

HM was always "high concept" trash. The only bits of this that are interesting are the naked chicks, and a naked chick in a painting is the artist admitting, "I got nothin', so this chick will serve to attract people in lieu of content." All the fembots (so many naked fembots) are just "high concept" naked chicks.

The most arresting image in this collection came out of *Hollywood*: Daryl Hannah in the absolute version of TCotCB make-up. That image has haunted me for decades (in the good way). All we see is her face, that outrageous make-up, and her expression. No nips. She doesn't need them to claim our attention.

A close second is the Hildebrandt unicorn pic, which gets most of its power from the myth's association of virgins and unicorns. His subsequent covers collapse: he's decent artist, but in the HM mill, all he can give us "naked chick" + "some animal."

Many of the artists are skilled, but HM positively militated against intelligent content.

Such a fantastic magazine for many years, with some of the most brilliant artists in the comic industry. No one pretends that this magazine was cerebral, but it was certainly an exercise in the surreal, epitomized by the work of artists such as Moebius, Jeff Jones and Richard Corben. Meanwhile, stuff like Liberatore and Tamburini's Ranxerox had a biting and incredibly violent satirical edge. To wave it off simply as a glorified nudie mag is a bit short sighted.
