Not to mention leveling pages, this gallery file size is 4x what it needs to be; all the excess is spent in faithfully reproducing the grain of the paper the manga was originally printed on...

An advice for those who want to edit a manga:
You don't have to figure out everything for yourself. There were persons before you and some left their knowlege on the internet. Check the "Cove of Scanlators" on the e-hentai forums or use google, bing, startpage,... and search for them (e.g. typesetting tutorial, editing manga,...).
