Vanilla-type? Not really, some of my favorite are stranger ones, like "Dosukebe Elf no Ishukan Nikki" or "Tentacle Lovers", but in those, everything makes sense. I simply prefer a work whether hentai or not, have some level of internal cohesion and make sense in regards to it's own setting.

Ideas on how this story "could" have worked:

1. He had a ring or other magic item that could absorb a girls soul, then turn him into said girl.
2. He was a shapeshifter of one sort or another, and made the girl dissolve (possibly from his cum), then consumed her to take her form and memories.
3. He was actually a type of parasite, like a huge bug, that could morph it's shame after entering a girls skin while it's venom melted the interior, with the girls eyes appearing on eye sockets along extra eye stalks the bug had.
4. If he extracted fluids from the girl with another syringe, then injected them plus another medicine into himself, making his body like putty that could adjust to the shape of the girls skin (As well as taking on her vocal chords, eyes, teeth, and other elements that aren't present in the skin.
