Inspired by the excellent webcomic "Dragonball Multiverse"

DBM has several "What if?" storylines about several memorable characters from the stories. such as:
- What if Cell had won the Cell Games?
- What if Goku had never been found by Son Gohan and had grown up to be Saiyan warrior Kakkarotto?
- What if the Namek people had fused into one warrior and defeated Freezer?

But among those stories I noticed that there was no "what if?" with Mr. Satan. And so I decided to create such a story myself.
- What if Mr. Satan trained under Muten Roshi and became a true Z-fighter?

@ Chapelseed. About the background characters, I was in a funny mood and decided to incorporate characters of series that I really enjoy, just to have a laugh. I mean come on, just the idea of having Kermit the Frog as a student of Mr. Satan's dojo is funny.

Anyway, here's a full list on who I depicted
Page 29
- Yoko Tsuno the heroine of her own sci-fi comic book series, she's actually a martial artist.
- Gene Simmons
- Ash Ketchum and Pikachu
- Avarel Dalton of the "Lucky Luke" Cowboy comic book series.
- Daria Morgendorffer
- Shikamaru Nara

Page 30
- Lucky Luke see Avarel Dalton
- Obelix from the "Asterix the Gaul" series.
- Again Daria Morgendorffer

Page 32
- Teela not She-Ra
- Prince Zuko
- Raphael
- Lucky Luke once more
- Brittany Taylor the cheerleader from "Daria"
- Kermit.

I just was having some fun here, nothing serious.

Hopefully with more practice the artist improves, and maybe redraws the comic. The premise is quite intriguing, but the art detracts from the overall appeal. I'll be watching this gallery for updates.

Thanks for that reply, I'm eager to see how you write it. It's a very compelling story so far by the way. ; )

P.S.

Don't want to load your comment section with new comment so I'll just edit this post. I think you did a very good job incorporating Mr. Satan's resourcefulness he showed in Majin Buu Arc into your comic. Using a ki sphere to bonce him away from the blast is a very clever move and I think it works since the blast from Cell's destruction won't be a concentrated attack like regular Ki attack.

Really hope you are still doing Majin Buu Arc since Mr. Satan's friendship with Buu is really one of the few high light of that arc. Although with Mr. Satan being a Z fighter I don't think Super Buu will appear since it's him almost got killed that made Buu lost control of his anger.

I'll try not to be rude as long as you're willing to listen.
1. Neither Porunga or Shenlong capable of reviving someone died by natural cause.
Shenlong : http://mangalife.org/read-online/Dragon-Ball-chapter-127-index-2-page-11.html
Porunga : http://mangalife.org/read-online/Dragon-Ball-chapter-133-index-2-page-4.html
It's not what exactly Dende said, but many believed what he said here is implying that Porunga has the same limitation on the natural cause.

2. Reviving Elder was a gamble as mentioned by Kaio

I recently re-watched the Freezer saga and this is how it went.

Shenlong was used to revive all "Who were killed by Freezer and his men" which for some reason included Guru who died of natural causes.

With Guru back, so too was Porunga who was then used to bring everybody excluding Goku and Freezer to planet earth.

I guess that Akira Toriyama went "Oh crap, I made a mistake here!" after re-reading the scripts and decided to leave it in since it worked in the long run.

@The great Saiyaman

There seems to be some confusion with some of the commenters as to what happened concerning The Grand Elder (Guru). While he was certainly old and he was going to die of old age at some point, a broken heart at the loss of his children is what actually killed him. He didn't actually die of natural causes. The attack on Namek by Freiza, his troops, and, unfortunately, Vegeta hastened his death with each life they took.

The Earth Dragon Balls merely gave him back the measure of life he would've had remaining if the invasion on Namek never happened. Kaio even brings up this fact (as you mentioned) and gambles that The Grand Elder's remaining life, shortened by the sorrow and stress he experienced, would be returned, and he was right. It's an unusual technicality, but it's logical.

For people wondering, they established as far back as the Dragon Ball series that a Namek can feel the passing of any offspring they produce. As was the case with the first Piccolo and his children Tambourine and Cymbal. It's kind of an interesting call-back when you think about it. But I digress.

The Grand Elder's actual "remaining measure of life", as they called it in the series, lasted long enough to see his remaining children arrive safely on Earth and pass on his mantle and the Dragon Balls to one of the remaining village elders. His life can't possibly be restored at this point because it's truly his time due to old age.

By the way, I'm enjoying the hell out of this story.

I don't know where did you read it with "chi" in it since even in the original it's "ki" if you translate it directly. So no, there is no "chi". Not to mention it's a japanese manga and they don't even use the word "chi" to describe this specific energy used in martial arts. They use the word "ki", if someone translated it into "chi" then he translated it from Chinese.
Also how old are you? I'm asking because this story is really linear and simple. Sometimes even cheesy.

@DeronRav. I got it from the VIZ translated manga. They use the word "Chi" throughout, if you want to comment on that, don't comment on me, comment on their translators.

As for my age I'm 41, the reason the story is linear and simple AND cheesy, is purely by design, people tend to forget that the original series has a lot of cheese, double meanings. (ah the joy of the Japanese language, maybe you should look up the "Lame contest" episode of the series "Gaki No Tsukai" where they try if it's possible to cool down on a hot summer day by watching really lame skits. This is all based on the fact that in the Japanese language the word "Sabui" means "Cold" but is also means "Stupid", "Lame")

If you think my story makes me look like a 15 year old who tries his hand at creating a DBZ story, just think of the whole process. Because it actually was difficult to use actual scenes from the series and incorporate Mr. Satan in them, which is why The arrival of Radditz and the Namek saga aren't depicted and also why I didn't depict the fight against the androids.

This is because according to the manga the other Z-fighters weren't part of the fight against Radditz, so it made sense that Mr. Satan, like the other Z-fighters would only learn of the event after it happened. And according to the manga Mr. Satan became the winner of the 24'th Tenkaichi budokai which took place around the Namek saga. As for the fight against the androids, that was because I needed a believable way to make Mr. Satan "the People's Champion", which is where the resourcefulness he displays during the Majin Buu saga came in. Mr. Satan knows when to strike when the iron is hot. As was shown in the manga, Android 19 and 20 destroyed the whole town which gave me the idea of Mr. Satan being a one man damage control team, using his chi sensing powers and super human strength (In my story he's around as strong as Piccolo) to aid the rescue services.

I know how picky DBZ fans are about how true it is to the real thing, so I used a lot of scenes from the manga, making sure that whoever reads it goes "Oh yeah, I know that scene,"
- Goku defeating Chapa-O
- Goku Flying towards Piccolo to knocking him out of the ring
- Goku defeating Nappa
- Kurrirn shielding Gohan. (This was one of those instances where I REALLY added Mr. Satan in a well known scene)
- Mr. Satan arriving at the Cell Games, is pretty true to how his arrival in the Manga looked.
- The hatching of the Cell Juniors and them slaughtering the Z-fighters is also pretty true to what is depicted in the real thing.
- The Scene of Goku teleporting Cell away to Kaio-sama's planet and the subsequent scene of Kaio-sama- Gregory, Bubbles, Goku and Mr. Satan's spirits floating above the serpentine road is also true to what happened in the real thing I only added Mr. Satan to the mix.

But I also had a ball with putting jokes in the story, look at the background characters in the Satan City Dojo:
- Yoko Tsuno, who is the title character of a European Sci-fi comic book series and actually a martial artist
- Gene Simmons of Kiss.
- Ash Ketchum and Pikachu
- Daria Morgendorffer
- Averell Dalton of the "Lucky Luke"comic book series
- Shikamaru Nara

Or that scene with Videl fighting
- She throws Lucky Luke Over her Shoulder
- She kicks Obelix of the "Asterix the gaul" series in the face
- Punches Daria Morgendorffer

And the page where Mr. Satan makes his speech about training his students to be strong enough to take on Piccolo Daimao.
- Teela of "Masters of the Universe"
- Prince Zuko of "Avatar, the last Air bender"
- Raphael of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
- Lucky Luke once more
- Brittany Taylor from "Daria"
Aaaaaannnnnd
- Kermit The Frog.

So did I have a meaning behind that Tomfoolery in those pages?

Not really, it was just the idea of having those characters and in particular Kermit The frog, as students of Mr. Satan's which was too funny not to use.

Then they did it wrong, and if you really are over 40 then you should know better than that follow bad example.

I'm not really picky and i am DB fan. This is essentially a fanfic manga. But then again, it's either "based on" or "alternative of". First one gives you much more freedom of choice than the last.

I don't see putting unrelated characters (aka not martial artists) in the comics as a gag. This is the "cheese" factor. I also don't see how Kermit is funny, but then again, there are many boring or stupid things people find funny for no reason.

I can assure you i can create better story than that, but then again i have no writing talent and it would probably have many holes and skipped scenes which would made the story chaotic and almost impossible to follow. I willnot rate this at all. Characters have too illogical personality changes (like Gohan being so bold, Videl being so hotheaded or Goku being so socially-smart. Him being like "our kids are into each other" is too far off his goofy character). You may created alternative version of events, but you have no knowledge on personalities. You can think "what a dick, do it better yourself if you are so smart", no i won't. I'm looking at it from psychological point of view, and there are so many errors here it's amazing. I spend 10 years of my life on studying people personalities, and i'm still far off from understanding it completely, but i'm hell sure more knowledgeable on the subject than most. Main factor why you only have 1.53 star out of 5 is exactly that character development. But then again no matter what i say it won't really affect this story. At most you will get angry and drop this for a time. And nothing i say will make you change anything. All I can do is to just point out errors and hope for the best.

@DeronRav, I'm not the kind of guy who would spew forth all kinds of profanity if somebody writes down a bad review, certainly not if that somebody goes "I could write a better story" but then is man enough to admit "But I haven't got any writing talent." (Ah Sarcasm...) But as long as you come across with valid points and argue them accordingly I am willing to listen.

Take it from me, people ARE willing to listen to negative criticism if you do it in a moderate tone, getting them up in arms with a bossy demanding tone is never a good idea because let's be Frank, NOBODY likes an asshole.

I'm pretty sure that my lack of stars in the ratings has a lot more to do with my artwork than the actual story because if you read the actual comments, they say that my story is good. I'm the first to admit that my drawing style is not nearly a millionth as good as Toriyama-sensei's is but it is good enough to portray my story as I want to portray it. As I said before, if somebody would get in touch with me to redraw the whole thing I'd welcome them to do so.

It's interesting though that you didn't point out the biggest character change from the canon series. The fact that Mr. Satan here isn't an asshole, who mocks his opponents in the Budokai as he did in the series itself. That's because from the very first picture of him looking at Chapa-O being defeated by Goku I made it clear that we were going to see a different character development of Mr. Satan, coming from the fact that he addressed Goku after that fight.

I'm not sarcastic. I just don't have enough skills to stich my story together. I got more or a less anything figured out up to Buu saga but there is nothing in the between (let's face it, "in the meantime" is not a good way of connecting scenes). And since i have absolutely no artistic capabilities (i seriously cant draw. You in front of me look like Leonardo da Vinci) i won't start my own version. I'm kind of a guy who either do something by himself, or deem it impossible if he needs to ask others for help.
I was polite... ok MY polite. This right now this is as polite as i can get. It was much worse 5 years ago, trust me.
With Mr Satan there is nothing weird here. He saw Goku fight in his youth unlike in canon version and that changed his views. Compare how Satan acted before and after he got to see how Z-team actually fought (aka after Buu saga) in the cannon series. Here personality change is justified and there is nothing to pick on.

The almost child-ish art style actually works for the story-telling. It's not pleasant to look at (not saying anything you haven't implied already), but it adds a certain something to the story. I can see it almost as one of the Zenos making this universe half-heatedly just as a "what if" and then they'll destroy it once they're bored and return to the normal universes.

I do want to thank you for your attention to the real story, and the limitations of human power. I don't think (until the fusion) that Mr. Satan here ever exceeds even Tien Shinhan's power, but it still makes both realistic and meaningful differences. Very well done.

Now swear the blood upon your steel

Sworn to fight and die

Many stand against us
But they will never win
We said we would return
And here we are again
To bring them all destruction
Suffering and pain

We are the hammer of the gods
We are thunder, wind and rain
There they wait in fear
With swords in feeble hands
With dreams to be a king
First - one should be a man
I call them out
And charge them all
With a life that is a lie
And in their final hour
They shall confess before they die

Brothers everywhere
Raise your hands into the air
We're warriors

Like thunder from the sky
Sworn to fight and die
We're warriors
Warriors of the world

If I should fall in battle
My brothers who fight by my side
Gather my horse and weapons
Tell my family how I died
Until then I will be strong
I will fight for all that is real
All who stand in my way
Will die by steel

Raise your hands into the air
We're warriors
