holy shit this brings back memories. my dad once got on the leaderboards in nintendo power for starfox and it blew my elementary schooler's mind. i grew so obsessed with the game that he'd only let me play if i did a bunch of studying first, ate a whole plate of breakfast burritos or some stupid shit. when i got stuck in fortuna and on the great commander he'd coach me from over my shoulder. we played that game for years.
now he's a cranky old man who spends most of the days lying down watching TV, but every now and then something will rouse his a younger self and make him crinkle the corners of his eyes; starfox is one of them.
i think i'll fire up the snes now.
