god I remember seeing these at my local comic shop, for like 10 dollars which was insane compared to magazines double even triple as many pages were selling for 4 dollars in the US
still even US anime mags like animerica and protoculture addicts were still pretty pricey compared to mainstream mags at the time

Low print magazines will always be costlier than mainstream stuff. Higher cost of production and less ways to recoup investment.
