@Doubles, your post might've been just a sarcastic joke, only if such a things had never really happened already on a daily basis, not with hentai but in magazines specialized on publication of ecchi manga - yes, it doesn't goes up to the level of making the whole page into a black bar, still some magazines can sometimes censor up to 30-50% of the page with those black bars, that the character under censorship is barely visible at all. Not every magazine's censorship department goes to such an extremes but there is enough of them to say that such a things happen with some manga series, their scanlators have a need to wait for tankoubon raws or redraw up to half of the page due to magazine raws being so retarded. To cast such a censorship there is no need even to have any real nudity, just some pantyshot/bikini or already applied convenient censorship(when there technically was a nudity but the artist used something "convenient" to partially or fully block the view with some book, cat, vase with flowers etc. , not some classic hentai rays of light/bars/mosaic/mist) is enough for them to censor it with black blocks of ridiculous size so that you wouldn't be able to see ANYTHING at all, even if there wasn't much to see in the first place.

The only way to even know about the real target of censorship is to wait for a few months until the tankoubon of that ecchi manga started being sold, they will have some sort of censorship too but it would be more adequate anyway. It's a scary thing to even try think about, how some classic ecchi manga series would've looked like if they were published right now and not 10-20 years ago - they might've been axed in a few months or were censored in the same way as it was mentioned above, basically there would be is a zero interest to even read them in actual freshly published magazine with such a censorship or there wouldn't be anything to read at all as it was discontinued, so only the tankoubons would be readable.
