Things escalate SO quickly between pages 4 - 6. I guess Nick moved in with Judy after they married? Neither one is wearing wedding bands so it's hard to tell. Judy tosses a bottle at Nick, only to somehow have a broken bottle in her hand afterwards. Instead of becoming a private detective (The obvious alternate career for a cop), she kinda gets raped/cheat?

There's a TON of build up missing. There's nothing wrong with these types of stories when they're handled with care. But this is obviously just "degrading/humiliation" porn fodder so, meh.

No Meta Setup or Payoff to Judy being Fired and Discharged from the Force, then Sexually Assaulted. Other than MEAN SPIRITED Juxtaposition. Check.

I think it's one of those things where SOME of the issues could have been tollerated, but not the whole of them. For example, I'd have ignored the bad art if the story was better. Or not complained about the story if the art was even vaguely decent. Nobody minds the essential 'Judy is a stripper/whore' of Sweet Sting, but Doxy can make quality art.

But the art is too ugly to enjoy as a pure titillation, and the story is too badly written to enjoy the reading of. It's not the WORST story, the 'Judy gets an Abortion' comics are proof that there's a place where even good art can't make up for horrendous story, and visa/versa is true. But this is the simple place of both story AND art are bad.

I think that they are referring to Borba, a comic artist who started making cute and funny short fan comics about Judy and Nick that were a bit too much on the sweet side but praised for the awesome artwork. Until he made... "I Will Survive" /g/1069672/b8e6cad1bc/
Basically Judy is pregnant with Nick's child but she doesn't want to keep it while Nick is suddenly being a religious anti abortion about it. It was so mocked and ridiculed that certain pages especially the 8th and 13th became memes for a period of time.
