They got a fresh start and can mend each other somewhere safe and quiet, I'd say it counts as a good ending, though overall this was a very, very bittersweet tale.

I'm also surprised that by the end I found Misaki sympathetic. Her actions are inexcusable and I feel she got away with it too easily, but being the spawn of a kingpin is not necessarily as glamorous and cool as some fiction portrays it (wives and children of crime bosses who dare stand against their spouses/fathers risk their lives).

Honestly, I feel this is the best ending that could have come from such a fucked up situation. Her remembering both cats implies that Rina remembers everything now, from both personalities, and has been made whole. Shouta gets to to forget all he has had to do throughout the whole mess and start fresh with his healed sister to guide him.

Even Misaki gets what is probably the best ending she could have gotten. I do agree with @pihip, Misaki does end up more sympathetic by the end. She was only able to do the things she did because she didn't view that new Rina as real; tied with the desperation we find out about it reframes a lot of what she has done. And in the end she does get her sister back (implied by the cats' reaction to the visitor at the door), but only after she has learned to not NEED Rina and live on her own.

Yes, there are some artifacts of previous plot lines, but that is just a consequence of a story evolving in real time, so they don't bother me that much.

@Juggernaut Santa: The original ending is mentioned on the 4th image by the author when he talks about his original intentions for the story. Stories change as they are written though, and by the last issue this new ending had taken form.

The character intro and author comment (Page 4) translation are full of mistakes and omissions, no doubt I read and got confused. Here is some correct info I get from the Japanese text (these do not include all the things that get misinterpreted though).
1. The Rimi is supposed to be Rina in Shouta's intro.
2. Shouta was originally planned to be disliking that he has a feeling towards his sister, and would cut his wrist to keep himself calm because of that.
3. People around Misaki only follow her because they are afraid of her. She is aware of that.
4. Kaori did not let herself be manipulated by Misaki. She asked Misaki to threaten Shouta to have sex with her. The author originally planned to let her die from committing suicide.
5. The fortune teller has spiritual power. She is a brocon herself, that is why she helped Rina. No idea where the Kuronara comes from as nothing in the Japanese text is about that.
6. The author originally planned to only have 3 chapters for Rina's story, and the next 3 Chapters will be another story. Both stories are related to the fortune teller and will connect together at last. Later this plan was abandoned and Rina's story takes all 6 Chapters. Due to this change, the fortune teller still exists but left many parts about her unexplained. The author feels bad about this.
