I translated SFX and fixed diction in the second part. Also took a liberal/cultural approach to translation, unlike the other versions, eg 110 to 911, and adding more humor for an English speaking audience that the literal translation lacks.

I've read this a while back prior to your TL.

The original's typesetting was really solid. No sounds sadly, but solid. The TL lacked the humor and nuance that you've added, which I very much enjoyed!

Yours, despite having sounds which is MUCH appreciated, and arguably the better translation needs to have proper sentence enders. The fact that you don't end a lot of your English sentences with punctuation personally drives me up the wall.

The Japanese might not use periods and question marks on every sentence, but we do in English. Western comics do it. Officially translated comics do it. Why not fan TL's? It's not just you; I see it quite a bit. Also, any element in speech bubbles should be fitted for the language you're translating in, include vertical ellipsis.(A minor gripe) We read stuff left-to-right, not up and down.

All it all, very VERY solid alt translation! It was really fun to read and the exchange between all the characters involved felt really really natural! 4/5 from me!

Thank you! I appreciate the kind words. The reason why I don’t end my sentences with periods is because I reserve periods for dialogue when the character is being serious or angry. Think about when you’re texting your friends. You don’t end your sentences with periods. It’s the same way when you’re talking to them, and as this doujin includes casual conversation between friends, I chose not to use periods.

Why not use punctuatyions in speech bubbles? Because it makes no sense and looks bad, that is why. While I agree that you can use such things in longer sentences in bubbles, using punctuation in shor ones looks bad. Unless it is ... or ? or ! it just looks horrible. Also, calling something like "I don't want to" a sentence (it is), is kind of silly.
