Fun fact: in one of the earliest versions of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, the prince finds the princess asleep and rapes her before leaving. The princess only wakes up after she gives birth to twins.
Obviously, later versions of the story -- including the one we are all familiar with today -- changed it so that the prince simply kisses her.

@meow_pao Even funnier fact: at the time that version of fairy tale was codifying in oral tradition, that wasn't considered "rape" - just a normal interaction between a man and a woman; also, with high probability, almost any woman of that time would be extremely pleased with such an occasion due to the man in question being of royal blood. The situation in the tale gets a bit murky only - only - because she is also of royal blood: this would demand a blessing from her father and a proper mahr to be paid.
Just like today - replace the "royal" with "oligarch", and "mahr" with "out of court settlement" - and here you go. Nothing really changed.
