It's nice the author was self-aware of how dumb hentai stories are, but it's a shame he didn't at least try to subvert the worst trope of them all. Letting the kid take the lead. When they're all cheeky and shit and the mom (or some other grown woman) can't be anything more than a total pushover, it's like their purposefully ruining the realism and potential for immersion.

I can somewhat agree. One of my favorite works of Hoyoyodou's to TL was "ママでセックスの練習しなさい!" (Sex Practice with Mom!), because the mother was the one taking charge. I like both kinds of stories, but the mom being a pushover is a lot more common as a story-line in this subgenre.
