That setup is the quintessential example of "plot? what plot?" The hypnosis aspect is literally backstory (it happened offscreen) and is SOLELY an excuse to have Lei Fang fuck the guy. Part of the appeal of mind control is the change, the before/after, and the journey between them. Unless he actually uses hypnosis to get her to do something else after the paywall, I actually don't know why the artist didn't just make him her boyfriend to start with.

All that said, thought, the art is good, and the sex is good, so it's hard to be too upset about it.
