Always a good thing to see Aoi Nagisa working with more developers and circles, it is just too good to be contained within just one or two circles.

Anyway, the story starts in a plain field, a seemly medieval landscape, there a young warrior is fighting a small troll-pig monster, despite its appearance the monster is giving the little warrior some trouble, in the heat of battle the youngster trips over, the monster is about to land a blow to his head, however the guy is saved by a beautiful pink haired female knight, she aids him and warns of the dangers of fighting a higher level monster while being a beginner - it is made clear this is a game of sorts, not reality - the boy looks at the astonishingly beautiful maiden as she talks to him, he then calls her by name: Nanatsuzaka-san (Miori Nanatsuzaka), the girl is surprised at being called by name, she then starts to recognize the player she just helped, calling him Tsukasa-kun (Tsukasa Minato, the protag), Miori has now realized Tsukasa has started playing PHL (Princess Heart Link).

The story cuts to a while back before the scene above; Tsukasa is in his room, early in the morning right before school hours, still groggy from sleep his little sister (Hazakura Minato) initiates the morning routine that is waking him up, Tsukasa says he needs no help to get up, Hazakura begs to differ as she is always the one making sure he gets up on time, she seems to have quite a hold on him, as if she was the older of the two, Tsukasa isn't helping his case since despite his protests she does get a hold of him easily, like a mother spoiling a child.

That's Tsukasa main gripes with himself, he is short despite his age (1st year High schooler) and looks quite feminine, to the point his younger sister might as well be his twin, he is socially awkward to the point he can never greet his friends at school without stuttering, the small banter on being called a boy-girl by others isn't too severe to the point of bullying but Tsukasa wished he could act and look manlier. During breakfast Hazakura keeps spoiling her brother, then their older cousin (who acts like a big sister) comes in, a typical sexy female teacher character Mahiro Konaka, she says Hazakura is spoiling Tsukasa too much, he won't act like a proper man if he is treated like that, then she proceeds to tease him like a cute boy, Tsukasa doesn't get a break, during the conversation Mahiro wants to hook Tsukasa into a game she is playing currently: Princess Heart Link, she starts gushing about how good it is, Tsukasa on the other hand wants nothing to do with it, he isn't much of a gamer.

At school Tsukasa tries to muster the strenght to greet everyone in class like an extrovert man, but fails, greeting them like a meek boy as always, they all greet him back, Tsukasa isn't treated badly by his classmates, his troubles is more of an internal thing; during class break Tsukasa stumbles on a beauty, knocking him back but she manages to catch him, it's Miori Nanatsuzaka the prestigious student, highest grades on the whole academy, member of the Kendo Club, she apologizes for bumping on Tsukasa, asking if he is fine, the boy is frozen and akward, he can't speak properly to a beauty like Miori properly, but manages to calm himself a little so she doesn't think he is weird; Mahiro sees both of them talking in the corridor, she hurries them back to class, Tsukasa remarks how different Mahiro is at school, at home she is a sweet cousin, at school she is a strict teacher.

At the school yard Tsukasa is thinking about self improvement as always, but his attention is taken by a girl who's jumping on a tree with the greatest athletics, seemly in order to save a cat, he admires her abilities and her unique looks, beautiful brown skin, white hair, green eyes, definitely a foreigner; after the girl recues the cat Tsukasa then congratulates her for saving it, she coldly replies it is only normal, Tsukasa is taken back a bit but how cold she is but thinks that might how a person from her country normally is; the girl's maid appears and hurries her back to class, calling her a princess, Tsukasa wonders if she is a big shot foreigner; after she leaves Tsukasa notices a very expensive-looking ring on the floor, he takes it with him, hurrying to find the brown girl, feeling that is definitely hers.

Back on the corridors Tsukasa sees his little sister talking to an absolute blond bombshell, Hazakura greets her brother while he seeems mesmerized by the blonde, the girl Rose Cinclair politely greets him too, seeing how silent her brother is Hazakura asks him if he doesn't know who Rose is, she is the esteemed student who somehow went from student council presitent to acting chairman (yes, chairman), Tsukasa wonders how the fuck is a student able to be the chairman also, the small talk goes on until the brown girl enters the scene, she seemed to be looking for Tsukasa, he then remembered his initial goal of searching for the girl he never quite got to know.

The brown beauty is Siris Ismaria, she came to Tsukasa to give him back his student pass, he just realizes it was missing, he too says he got something for Siris, her ring, she just realizes she had lost it; Siris greets Rose and remarks she seems quite open to talking with Tsukasa, something that seems unique as she isn't often talking with boys, Rose blushes and says she was with Hazakura untill her brother appeared; the three girls and Tsukasa now notices there's a student crowd around them, it seems two beauties together is quite the spectacle so they decide to continue talking in the school yard.

In a more quiet location Tsukasa, Hazakura, Rose and Siris properly get acquainted amongst themselves; Siris says she is a foreign tranfer student from a small nation, which she is a royal princess of, Rose in turn says she is the daughter of a very powerful company's CEO, the tech giant who created Princess Heart Link, the conversation then goes on to be about said game, Tsukasa can't believe how popular this thing is, everyone is playing it but him, when a beauty like Rose is saying how cool the game is and asks him if he is a fan Tsukasa immediately changes his tune, he didn't care about the game before but now says he is eager to start it out, Hazakura can't help but notice how her brother changed his opinion about the game, in his mind Tsukasa tells Hazakura to mind her business.

Rose then starts explaining what Princess Heart Link is, a high-end MMORPG built on a ground breaking sensorial VR tech (think SAO) that provides the ultimate realistic gaming experience, while Rose explains the part the game enforcing strict rules about maintaining a person's real appearance for realism purposes and how the device's sensors apparently force some real physical strain (potential real workout by doing stuff in the digital world) Tsukasa then starts linking his desire for the potential self improvement a realistic RPG experience (adventuring, monster killing, etc.), plus getting to be closer with Rose and Siris this new PHL game could bring, he will start playing it as the foundation to become the more proactive man he wishes to be in the real world, first venturing the digital landscape.

Yeah, I was so surprised by that I went back and double and triple checked to see if there was any for them because it just seemed way too weird that there wouldn't be. I questioned whether I was just being blind. There really isn't though. Very odd for a Hadashi Shoujo game.
