@schody1234

for real, judging by his closing words this artist completely missed the point of taihou. add that to belfast's almost antithetical characterization and you've gotta wonder if he actually played the game at all, or just knows the characters from other porn he's seen and then filled in their personalities by guessing

@meowskersaures

absolutely not.
- we could argue that their potential MO is different, but taihou is as hellbent as akagi when it comes to "taking care of pests"; she literally overpowered belfast, took her clothes and bound her. that's plenty of "focusing on the competitor", any more than this and this doujin would have a much darker ending
- the artist said, word for word: "Taihou is trying to cover up her emotional vulnerabilities with a delusional love". she's a goddamn yandere; she's crazy as a bat exactly BECAUSE her love is way too real to the point where it engulfs everything else. and she isn't using it to cover up her emotional vulnerabilities either, there's literally nothing in the story that even hints at that. she has her yandere love AND she has her emotional vulnerabilities, but there's never any mention or even suggestion that they're tied to one another
- you used her shutting herself in the room as an example that her love comes from a place of insecurity... why? how would one even arrive at that conclusion from that chain of events? it's literally just taihou having a moment of self-reflection on her yandere actions, before putting that aside and going back to her usual shenanigans. you could argue that this is taihou second-guessing herself, thus proving she can feel insecure, and I'd agree with that. but it is in no way proof that her love itself comes from that place of insecurity, and much less proof of "covering up emotional vulnerabilities with a delusional love" as the artist put it
- and finally, yes, it's entirely reasonable for someone to be mad after that chain of events. fuck, I'd actually argue it's a very calm reaction. but this isn't about how reasonable it is, it's about how inline it is for -belfast-, who is personified as a perfect maid, and even when dissatisfied by your actions she redirects the blame onto her own inability to understand the current situation. so it's questionable whether she'd ever even think the stuff she said above, but it's beyond question she'd never actually say them; a fact that is especially glaring due to the way she said them, by taking the opportunity to repeatedly insult the commander in such a deliberate manner. that's something we never see belfast even come close to doing, it's literally sheffield's shtick

No I think this artist has a good understanding of taiho. Akagi would've gotten into a fight with belfast. Taiho is more creative/devious and focuses more on the commander and her own percieved failures, while akagi feels that she is incapable of mistakes and therefore focuses more on the competitor. He's also right about his commentary. If you look at taiho's history, she was supposed to do great things and was fairly impressive from a design standpoint but got detonated immediately due to crew incompetency. Also look at taiho's secretary story where taiho goes and locks herself in her room because she thought she was being overbearing. So the artist's commentary that taiho's expression of her love comes from a place of insecurity is very correct.

It's also entirely reasonable that belfast would be pissed off that she just got mugged, tied up by a crazy shipgirl, and then NTR'd. I don't know why that seems out of character to you guys.

Man, As soon as I finish off Gascogne, Drake and Chesire, I really need to go back to the Sakura Empire girls and read up on Taihou's story.
