in raw the dude called her "sister-in-law" 義姉さん, p.4 panel 3 he call her sister-in-law 義姉さんwith spelling of "sister"ねぇ~さん (usually used by blood relate younger sibling to call older sister in playful way)

here they're all become auntie, playful referent noun for someone totally different in family hierarchy or generation,

which created confusion like the comment from panzerklein, while in raw there is no such confusion.

change or make it confusing family hierarchy.

the base interaction of the older brother to the dude is the same,
the base interaction of the older brother's wife to the dude is the same,
the base interaction of the dude to the older brother's wife is not the same.

this can lives with rewrite tag.

simple fix = change all the auntie to sis.

edit: @izumabakumatsu so by vote+ crusher330 and vote- my comment, you are saying that the sister-in-law has the same relationship as the neighbor woman who at the age to be call as aunt - no blood or family relate.

some east asia and japan use "aunt" for woman that is NOT BLOOD OR FAMILY relate.

you clearly just read the non blood relate part then forget about the family relate part.

in this case

She is his sister-in-law, in raw, in japanese, by how the author created, he called her "sister-in-law". She is his sister-in-law, he is her brother-in-law, they have FAMILY relate.

Translate sister-in-law (family relate) to auntie (with the understanding of "just a generic term they use and doesn't necessarily mean specific blood or family relations.") is clearly misunderstand the meaning of the story.

Created unnecessary confusion to reader.

Agreed with H0R0, it's a mistranslation. And yes it does matter. It can change the perceived age of characters and the guy's relation to the husband. If you don't care, then go ahead and read it as a rewrite. But if it was a paid commission, I suggest the translator/editor fix it.

Calling sis-in-law auntie is nothing new, tho while it might not apply to your case it isn't wrong as long as there are people using it.
Regardless,unless our client requests the change, auntie stays.

You're absolutely right, except there's a limit to how much artistic freedom you have as a translator.
You can't change the narrative and just call it a translation. I've translated between German, English and Danish for a decade, every job is different. But in a "cartoon" or hentai-manga there isn't room for much flexibility.

The fact is that you've spent time on this and decided to share it, thank you for that, however...
I admit the text and images didn't match for me either till page 6 when he mentions the brother. Then I conceded that you're calling her auntie for... some reason.

The fix is much more simple than earlier suggested. Him calling her auntie is perfect for the characters and makes sense for them, but not the reader, because their familial relationship hasn't been established.

1. On page 1 top-left panel replace kento-kun with "your brother" OR
2. On page 1 bottom-right replace kento-kun with "your brother" OR
3. On page 2 replace auntie with sister or sis.

After that their relation is established and auntie would be fine for the rest.

Finally, you're saying that using auntie for a sister-in-law is normal. In which language? No English-speaking country does that, anywhere, I guarantee it. English-speaking people generally understand when Asians use auntie instead of obasan or similar, but in English auntie is generally not used(except by kids in place of aunt), aunt is, and it has a very specific definition. It is specifically the sisters of parents or female spouses of brothers of parents, nothing else.

I really am in awe of all the work you've done, you even uploaded 2 of my fav series, this is a small thing in comparison so don't take it too personally. I hope you keep busy :) more enjoyment for the rest of us.

@H0R0 If what he's using auntie instead of is 'obasan' he could be using it in a teasing manner. Considering that last time he saw them he was much younger.
That's just a guess though, and you've made it clear that this isn't the case in the original. If it is the case the translation isn't wrong, just different.

@葛の寺 I have a big Asian family with many generations, and the pronounce to call them is very complex. I will got a scold if call sister-in-law is aunt or call wrong word for younger uncle to older uncle.

I don't really think there is a need for the rewrite tag just cuz the translator make a mistake of calling her auntie instead of sister-in-law. Feels like you people are being too picky, tbh.

@blackjack88 one of the weirdest logics in hentai (and we are talking about hentai here, where every single logic is weird) is how freaking sure of themselves are rapists that their victims are going to keep the "secret" instead of directly going to report them.
Authors make them look so sure that nothing is gonna happen that it feels as if they are telling us "why would you even think something else than that could happen?"
