I agree with your point, but I would tell it mildly.
Things that's off center will draw eyes to it, makes it more prominent. This trick used widely in graphic design. For texts, that effect is not desired. Distraction should be kept to minimal in plain text. That's why you want it centered and use low-key typeface. Exceptions apply.

I really just rushed to put this out because the other translation was terrible. A great work like this just needed a proper translation done as soon as possible. But lol yeah I shoulda done better on the editing. Anyway, here's a translation of Bifidus' afterword.
