Yeah, bokukkos are often tomboys but they aren't always. I think the most mainstream examples is Hestia from Danmachi is one, if I recall, and while she's very willful she's not exactly a tomboy. And she doesn't seem like one anyway, hell the fucking files say "yandere" and if we're talking archetypes there's not much overlap.

Furthermore, everyone knows anime tomboys are all secretly submissive, even the ones that try to act all tough and dominant.
