1. Ah X-23... The Megan Fox of the Marvel Comics universe. Literally. The creative artists for X-23 drew their inspiration (visual depiction, not character traits ;p ) from Megan Fox. ;)
2. @theCircle ~ RE: Distasteful Origins... I agree it is a mixed-reception/-reaction for that aspect (underage prostitute) for Laura Kinney's (X-23, Wolverine III) metaphorically and literally tortured past... - a.) On one hand, it was simply too distasteful for most comic-audiences to bear the thought of Kinney having been an underage prostitute. Thus why it had been RetCon'd out. Cannot have Kinney-fans even broadly accepting that their 'waifu' was once an underage prostitute. - b.) On the other hand, it was a fairly important story-point that Kinney was not only willing to be an underage prostitute, but also willing to REMAIN an underage prostitute in order to stay hidden from the Weapon X Project, in order to drive home the point of how utterly horrific Kinney had it for her early life. Kimura and the Weapon X Project personnel would torture Kinney on a regular basis, for no other reason than the sheer malicious pleasure of being able to do so.
As initially remarked by the X-Men when the first came across Kinney, "How bad was it that she (Kinney) is turning tricks at such a young age? And how bad it must been that she is willing to STAY in this life?"
3. @theCircle (#2) ~ RE: Laura Kinney as Wolverine III... What was wrong with Laura Kinney taking up the role of Wolverine (III)? Kinney is the daughter (albeit cloned) to Logan Howlett (Wolverine I), has the same power-set, is close in combat skills to Logan, and very similar origins (Weapon X Project). - a.) Open Spot ~ At the time of Laura's taking up the role and title of Wolverine (III). Logan (Wolverine I) was dead at the time, and Daken (Wolverine II) had given up the role after his failed stint among Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers. - b.) Room For More Than One ~ Likewise, in the current (5th) comic-era, Marvel Comics has had multiple heroes sharing the same Hero Title at the same active time. We have had two Hulks (Bruce Banner, Amadeus Cho), two Captain Americas (Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson), two Black Widows (Natasha Romanoff, Yelena Belova). We (currently) still have two Hawkeyes (Clint Barton, Kate Bishop), two Wasps (Janet Van Dyne, Nadia Van Dyne), two Spider-Men (Peter Parker, Miles Morales). And probably more examples that I am missing. - c.) Character Growth (then not?) ~ I personally thought it was a good character growth for Laura to have taken up the Hero Title of Wolverine III. Just as I also felt it was a poor move when Laura's 'All New' Wolverine (2016-2018) comics-series ended, and the change in writers backpedaled Laura to being X-23 again for her following & short-lived comic-series "X-23" (2019 series), essentially undoing (but not RetConning) all previous character growth. - d.) Character Growth (redux) ~ Fortunately, when I last checked (2020), Laura had again taken up being Wolverine (III), this time with the recently-resurrected Logan's blessing, while Logan also retains being Wolverine (I).
