Sentimental Graffiti is an old (by video game standards, anyway) game; it first hit the shelves in 1998, almost twelve years ago. It sure warms my heart by a bit seeing a doujinshi hailing from such a bygone era, when the term 'visual novel' and 'galge' were pretty much unheard of outside Japan and really hardcore circles. I remember my first entry to the genre at around the time, with Tokimeki Memorial; Sentimental Graffiti was a name to know, though elusive to catch. It wasn't until around 2002 that i managed to finally get to touch the fandom with the hitherto equally-unknown doujin game, Sentimental Shooting.
Well then, enough of my own nostalgia, let's get on to the review of this fine work. The yellowing paper bear witness of this doujin's old age, and while in my opinion not detrimental to the enjoyability of reading the work, it may be beneficial to color-compensate or perhaps scan this doujinshi in monochrome. The art quality pales in comparison of today's greats like Ishikei or Studio Kimigabuchi, yet it brings a feel of long-lost, seldom-seen stroke of art. The hand-written Japanese fonts adds a certain hand-made feel; it's as if i'm driving a hand-made Bristol car in the streets of high-tech Silicon Valley. And to top it off, the somewhat-standard stock story enables a reader to at least probe around without much confusion.
All in all, this compilation can evoke a deep nostalgia for people who knew the fandom and genre in its earlier days, while still able to moderately compete on the eyes of more contemporary readers. Thank you for uploading.
