Peculiar. Certain aspects of the art are just amateurish -- the odd apparent tracing of 3d assets on the first page definitely stands out -- but a lot of the off-putting appearance is that the artist seems to be aiming at a very different look from modern "moe" manga/anime style. I'm really put in mind of 1970s US/UK "underground comix". I'm not sure that helps it any, though.
