-たら is a conditional form. Depending on the context, it can express time sequence like "when/after" and conditions like "if."
So, at pag.6, I would have gone with "when I grabbed his head and slammed...it exploded.... "

@Brezz - oh that sounds good too, this is an old translation i did. so, i literally just copy pasted what i already had without checking the original. but i like your version of the panel too.
