I mean, it's a unique style of story that you don't usually find elsewhere. But it's true the visuals are not that great. My recollection of the evolution of muran1983 (guy who runs a dozen or more circles under the umbrella of M Shousetsu Doumei):
- (Early years more than a decade ago) Writes good-sized short stories and commissions several color illustrations from talented artists like Sanshouuo. Even makes a few short VNs. Lots of entertaining and creative stories, maybe a third of them being NTR femdom.
-> (A little later, around 2015?) Drops Sanshouuo, starts to hire other artists like Harumari and kaika, occasionally re-use some earlier art assets, like the cock cage in this one. Primarily creates CG sets (understandable, as sadly literature isn't as profitable as it should be) that he typesets and arranges himself.
-> (A few years ago?) Starts to commission sprites instead of illustrations, or use sprite-maker programs, and frequently re-use earlier art assets. CG sets not as long or ambitious.
-> (Past year or so) All or almost all works are made using simple sprites and re-used assets. CG sets are all low on text and primarily dialogue-driven. Heavily focused on NTR femdom. Still hasn't learned to not awkwardly squeeze text height to fit the way he wants it to, though the typesetting in this scanlation fixes that.

This feels like a writer who's almost certainly trying to optimize the profit ratio of his works. Maybe someone who tried to earn a living doing what he loved, and found he had to put out less than ideal quality works if he wanted to keep it up. He currently has hundreds of works for sale that are continually generating profits for him.
