@Jc1 that is likely the case, the younger bro had used her loneliness as a way to make her physically dependent on him. While he does love her, he never made an attempt to foster any real emotional connection with her, so his plan to help her escape her loneliness backfired.

Granted his plan was doomed from the beginning since he made her believe she's betrayed the deceased brother from the start while continuously making use of her body.

What little hope he had of seeing her smile again was crushed when he told her she HAD betrayed the deceased brother, had he just said " he's probably saddened to see how lonely she is an would want her to find new love", while appealing his desire for her to make her understand that someone still wants her.

the funny part to me is WHY he did that in the first place. from his comment about her showing no disgust it's clear he didnt like doing things the way he did. it's very likely that he couldnt handle the person he loved living such a gray life and wanted her to feel or do SOMETHING. after that moment was the point he decided he would train her rather than love her. had she been closer to the person her remembered/ imagined he'd have likely gone down the love route but because dealing with a broken person was just to bothersome to him he decided to just force "happiness" upon her which involved dissociating her from his brother which was the key mistake
