Though the pages look worse than the raw due to unnecessary leveling. All the black and white pages were made darker for no reason. You don't need to level absolutely everything. Only level images that actually benefit from leveling. This would have looked just fine without adjustment.

Maybe not completely unnecessary. Looking at this again, I agree that the whites could use a small adjustment. The noise on the bubbles especially looks bad.

However the noise on the black areas is barely noticeable. There was no need to darken the pages as much as they did. Compared to the raw you can see the black areas have slightly expanded, eating up some detail along with the noise. When leveling, the black areas should never grow. If you have to lose actual detail to get rid of some barely visible noise, it's not worth it.
