Dash Machine Hayabusa follows a similar premise of a less-than mentioned sub genre of Showa era shonen-based shows. While the super robot and sentai genre was huge in the mid to late 70s, the racing genre had a small sect of shows. Dash Machine Hayabusa (or simply Machine Hayabusa), is just as you'd think, and follows a similar premise to obscure racing shows such as Cho Gattai Supercar etc; an evil organization takes over the international racing community and a plucky team has to save the day and dismantle them. Did I mention that the hero's closest, most loved family member is usually killed by said cadre? These shows were pumped out quite frequently, but Dash Machine Hayabusa had a stronger foothold in animation history thanks to being bankrolled by Toei as well as having a notable manga created based on it by Mikiya Mochizuki, who's famously known for the Wild 7 series.
The characters were designed by Takao Kozai, who is still alive til this very day, who has some rather obscure credits in animation history. Most of his work was done on this series as both an animation director and the principal character designer, though he worked on quite a bit throughout the late 70s up into the mid 1990s even.
These got cleaned up, though the files on the web are low res JPEGs; only but so much can be done, but emphasizing them was the goal.
