If this was a semi-explicit drama manga, the girl would offer herself while bearing the disgust she feels to secretly help the guy in the hopes that he'd come to love her. And then he'd just obliviously ignore her efforts, leaving her feeling anxious and doing even more irrational things or go out with another girl while she sourly watcher their blooming romance or he'd find out about what she was doing and become disgusted then distance himself away or engage in his saviour complex to "fix" this girl only for her to end up in her old path again, blah blah blah. Wtf am I even blabbling about...? So the story instead of framing about the guy hopelessly losing someone important to him, it'll be about the girl's futile effort to sacrificing herself but in the end, it doesn't even matter.
