Megaton Musings: Wanted to still get this TL'd since I had the first part done, but fuck this is PAIN. Feel free to skip a little venting below.

Honestly pretty disappointed with Chirumakuro for this. I would have preferred they just did what Darabuchi did and waited till C101: https://twitter.com/darabuchi0/status/1546466926196506631 (or even later like how Andoryu has taken time with the Okaa-san sequel). But I guess between writer's block and their work on LN illustrations they never had the ability to finish this and now never will. I think I might have to find another artist for shortstacks at this point. Probably still follow and read stuff from Chirumakuro (if others TL it) but unless it's really incredible can't see commissioning them again now.

I'd rather take an admission of "I can't do this and set expectations too high" than a certain other artist who has been working on the same shit for almost half a decade

EDIT: It's Takeda Hiromitsu who has been putting out updates for Bakunyuu Party CG set since 2019 and it isn't expected to come out until late 2023, and he's basically been releasing WIPs for comiket ever since

EDIT2: Sisters Sippo is notorious for like, only putting out LNs that go for 2~4 volumes or only putting out one volume for their series a year. Besides, Asanagi does LN work too and a lot of work for like, Yostar, and still puts out something every Comiket. Obui still does something despite working closely with SmartJoy for Last Origin

@Gespens: I look forward to George R. R. Martin dropping a 100 pages of the next volume of GOT for free and then saying that he's moving onto other projects and won't touch it anymore. It's more the not leaving open the possibility of coming back to this that irks me (tweet and pixiv replies made that pretty clear) since I've seen other artist drop stuff like this before and leave open future options.

Also, what other artist are you exactly referring to?
EDIT: Ah right, that thing. Hopefully it'll turn out at least as well Amazon's Yuuka game when it's finally done *fingers crossed*.

I'm just concerned Chirumakuro is gonna start focusing more on stuff like this: https://twitter.com/sisters_sippo/status/1560960961158455297 over doujinshi and eromanga because it feels like this is what actually killed the sequel.

@EDIT2: I hope that's true but there's been nothing else this past year from Chirumakuro at all. *checks DLsite and Fanza* Jeez, nearly 5K sales and 7K sales for the original (granted I think it was digital only and no Comiket at the time but still). Pray for better luck and time management in the future.

Sucks, but it seems like his heart wasn't really in it if he's just cancelling it outright, meaning it probably wouldn't have been all that great anyway. Hope he feels more personally committed to whatever he does next.

Oof, sucks that they had to cancel this, but if they really couldn't come up with anything that sparked their interest, I guess it's just not gonna happen. Hopefully they'll come out with something hot sometime in the future, as I really like Chirumakuro's art style, their short stacks tend to be hot as hell.
