I think this is one of those situations where the tags given to us by the system aren't really aligned with what people are looking for.

It seems strange to label a character "shemale" if it's never implied that they're trans. Most normal futa fans aren't going to be pixel-peeping every page to look for evidence of a vagina because - unless it's made clear that they're trans - most really don't care.

Tags are visual. Shemale tag has nothing to do with how the character identifies, but rather simply physical characteristics. And the distinction is important as it’s what some of us are looking for. Personally find dual genitals rather uncanny most of the time, so I browse the shemale tag and largely ignore futanari. I stand to miss some good stuff when the tags get muddled.
