@Neeckin The creator can really draw but the tone of these comics has been getting darker and darker over time. This took a dark swerve (seems out of character for Dave) and the Alix: Book Of Lust is almost a horror/ dark supernatural adventure story.

It's a pretty hectic shift considering these started out as cutesy hook-up comics but the darker stuff is done well. Although I still wish the creator had just done them as a whole different series with different characters but maybe thats just me.

lightningbarer, I can see the point about having a transphobic character make a more authentically bigoted comment (and how this might have made the comic feel more authentic.) And provide greater character motivation for the protagonist. But it's the creator's choice whether or not to go that route. We can theorize about the reasons for this creative choice but we don't know.

I don't know the artist's gender but put forward the view that such comics and art can also be created by queer people.

These are porn comics; one's not necessarily going to get realistic writing and character motivation. Which is fine. And let's be honest, when "deep" comics or stories get posted here, they get generally downvoted because it's not what the site readers want. That's fine; it's a fap site. People mostly want fappable material. People want escapism.

If you wanna have a calm discussion and exchange points, lots of people are open to that but the tone of your comments makes that difficult. People think that you're trolling. Your response is probably going to be unpleasant so I don't think I can engage with you anymore, sorry.

Are you setting yourself up as some sort of champion of trans people because you care about them? Or are you just going after people you think are hypocritical regarding trans people and this comic?
It may not seem like much of a difference but the nuance is there, and one of them is very much virtue signaling.

and I'm just going to repeat my point from before. The majority of people who read this aren't virtue signaling or transphobes. They see a comic with good art and an interesting story and they read it. And that's it. Any discrepancies regarding views towards trans people are going to fly over their heads because they're more interested in where the plot develops rather than if a word bubble uses the wrong pronoun several pages in.

The real issue with Cherry Mouse Street is they seem to have a big-ass chip on their shoulder, which leads to their comics being rife with passive-aggressive preachy bullshit. I'm not just talking about the trans stuff - you see this resentful attitude present any time a character is "abnormal" in any fashion in CMS works.

Not a surprise their comics are shifting darker and darker in tone - that's what happens when refuse to let go of such bitter resentment, it twists you into a vindictive cynic.

I think one thing that does bug me about this whole bit is yeah, she did cheat on him in a moment of anger but it's not being treated as her doing a bad thing. Instead him engaging in hetero sex or wanting such is...while Fanny wants to fuck a female porn star by comparison and later on does so.
