the first thing in cosplay is do you look actually as a character or not.
and when is a character is that simple - hair style and hair color and glasses - sorry, but body is half of a characters style. So body color is as important, as hair color. Cosplaying Genji of Overwatch - it'd be different.
If you are fat, you'll be bad in cosplaying a thin character.
If you are old, you'll be bad in cosplaying a young character.
If you are white male, you'll be bad in cosplaying a black female character.
Etc.
Just. Becuase. You. Won't. Look. Like. A character. Period.
If you gonna cosplay a Na'vi (Avatar) - you'll paint you body into blue, no matter what color is your body irl. Just because it'll be waste of time otherwise.
