I concur with @poioppai: Fate/EXTRA mainly takes place in (a digital reconstruction of) a high school, similarly to the author's previous works.
Fate/EXTELLA's setting is entirely different.

@orasmase A bit nitpicky but EXTELLA is (kind of) a sequel to Extra. The actual chain of events is murky as well as what events are canon but it is ultimately a continuation of some sort.

Yes, EXTELLA is indeed a sequel to EXTRA, taking place after Hakuno won the Moon Holy Grail War. But their life as a high schooler -- setting depicted in Wise Speak's previous works -- is then no more, hence why EXTRA being the one mentioned seems more relevant.
