I don't speak Japanese, so I don't know which one is correct, but yeah, there's quite a few differences between the two even in the first page, although the general meaning is similar.

Yes, some sentences are different in the french version because I hate translate stuff word for word.

Like here when you check page 44 with the theacher who said "Youth, huh", or Nene with a simple "A new club applicant". I find this way of doing things pretty bland.
I can't say that my way of doing things is better. But I prefer when the translator take some risk or small liberties than just transcribe text. ^_^

I've checked about 20 pages of this and it is accurate albeit bland.
The translation never strays from the wording / structure of the original which has obviously led to weird / bad flow as noted by @asurast.
However, although this person has MTL'd before I'm not going to accuse them of that here. I technically can't fault this translation but it just wouldn't be how I'd do it personally.

The flow issues can be fixed by just proofreading and rearranging where you start and end dialogue in each bubble.

Yeah, a lot of my english script here is pretty much trying to take as few liberties as possible. For example, the lines you're referring to:

English: "So spacious!"
JP: 「ひろーい！」
Literally just "Spaaaacious!" or "Vaaaast!", at least to my knowledge. I wanted to keep it a drawn out, one-word, sort of juvenile cry like ひろーい！

English: "This is the first time | that Nene's ever seen such a nice house!"
JP: 「ねねこんなすごいお家 | はじめてですー!」
Literally speaking, to my knowledge, she's saying it's the first time she's [there's no verb] a sugoi house like this. The line is split between the two bubbles, so the issue here is probably just where I split the line.

...and so on. A lot of the awkward lines here are like that, or at least I hope so. Other, better, translators might deviate from what they're literally saying to make the sentence read better in english. I've chosen to try to keep the phrasing as close as I can while having it read well in english, and sometimes it's worked, but as you can see I could use more practice.

And to address the elephant in the room, I'll describe my exact process: I read the jp, using text extraction if necessary (which is frequently, I'm only learning at this point), use whatever tools necessary to gain a comprehension of what they're saying, be that translation tools or looking up the kanji or just knowing the line already, then I translate that into a readable english script. I'm not just throwing it into a MTL and calling it a day, and most of the stiffness is due to my intentional choice with the english script, rather than being a direct result of using DeepL or Google Translate or whatever as part of the process. I've been translating stuff on my own mostly without posting it to practice my japanese, using MTL to check to see if I comprehend the text. Not as good as having an actual person do the checking, but I don't have enough free time to take a course/get tutored. Of course, I don't know what I don't know, so if there are any lines that are outright incorrectly translated then do let me know, I am noting a lot of the feedback I get.

I mean, I technically can't complain. Your other TL was full of errors, and this one isn't, so clearly your effort paid off.

I still intend to remake part 1 (and part 4...), but I've been waiting on the tank, which I'm gonna assume has non-shit censorship.

If I tl before the tank is out, I'll prob combine everything afterwards (parts 1,3,4 by me, part 2 by RL, and this TL) though I might end up doing some aesthetic changes to the other TLs when I combine.

In short, my point is mostly just to hold back on a compilation before I re-do parts 1 and 4, which have very questionable translations.

I actually prefer the so-called "bland" translations. I don't like folks injecting something that isn't there into a dialogue. I do also dislike things not being present though... Like, if there is a pun, I'd like to know in a translator note rather than just have it be unaddressed.

This is a different language with a different culture. To me, part of the enjoyment is getting that vibe from the work. A large part of getting that vibe is the words used.

Translation is a hard job.
