You're hoping for a decent, grounded story. There isn't one. Rose is supposedly in a loving relationship with her sister while simultaneously hating her relationship. She accepts it's genetic, yet wants different of her daughter. She demands to know how Kate is happy with being a slave to her instincts, so Kate tells a story of where being a slave to her instincts made her happy. Rose asks for morality, but is swayed by a story of giving up morals. It's a creative premise, but terribly written. What you're trying to piece together doesn't exist.
