This book was released at C97, the 2019 Winter Comiket. At the time of release, the manga was at Ch. 173 (tying a cherry stem with your tongue chapter) and the anime was in-between seasons 1 and 2. This means this book was written before Hayasaka’s major character development arcs (179, 182-187). This is the Hayasaka who “competed” against Kaguya to see who could seduce him first. The playful, sadistic, and in this book’s case, schemeing and vengeful Hayasaka. It’s a version of Hayasaka that I missed seeing, something I didn’t realize until after working on this book. It reminds me of the HayaPrez kindergarten storyline from the official doujin. ShiroKagu might be the cutest, but HayPrez still holds a place in my heart, even if it’s limited to the kindergarten universe.
I like the tone of the story and the place and time it holds in the source material. Hayasaka is a very exciting and interesting character at this point and this work displays her well. The art also makes her look really hot.
