1- Lady Adelheid - a formidable sea captain and haughty servant of The Crown - is appointed as the new governor of the tropical island colony of Port Azure. While she regards the posting as beneath her, she regards the native population of the island with outright hostility...

2-Adelheid soon discovers life in Port Azure may be even less bearable then she feared, as she struggles to sleep most nights and finds the local food unpalatable. Bizarrely, her finely-tailored clothes even seem to have shrunk in the stifling tropical heat... Or have they?

3-In lieu of anything else on the island she'd consider edible, Adelheid continues subsisting mainly on the local Kumkum fruit. Soon enough however, the fruit's "side effects" begin to make themselves felt, and Adelheid starts to have trouble concentrating on her duties...

4-While lesser women might be overcome by the effects of wolfing down aphrodisiac-laced fruit by the barrelful every day, Adelheid throws herself into her duties! She even visits the docks several times a day to carry out "private inspections" of the native workforce...

5-Thanks to Adelheid's "hands on" leadership, morale among the natives soars! However, the amount of actual work getting done plummets. Rumours begin to spread all over Port Azure as to the reason, with more than a few labelling Adelheid as the cause... unjustly, of course.
