Using this as a way to make a vamp a daywalker? It would probably depend on setting details, some don't simply require that sunlight be avoided but also incapacitate vampires while the sun is above the horizon, (e.g. Tanya Huff's "Blood" books have vampires being effectively dead during the day as an effect over and above the lethality of strong UV light¹).
