24 B&W pages half a gigabyte?

1. Pages are 24 bit RGB, which is unnecessary. 8 bit Greyscale would reduce file size by a lot without altering the quality, because it's black and white.
2. Keeping the resolution in the dimensions of 6224p is kind of exaggerated.
Well, some people might prefer it with such high resolutions, so no objections on that part, but doing half the resolution, let's say 3200p would save you way more space than the benefit of having it at 6224p. I mean, it's only 24 pages and this is 500MB. There are tankoubons with 3200p and 200 pages which have the same file size like this, some even less. Not saying to reduce it to a tiny resolution, but around 3200p I feel most comfortable in terms of resolution <> file size.

After downloading it I converted the colour format from 24bit RGB to 8bit Greyscale and reduced the resolution from 6224p down to 3200p.
The folder is 75MB now instead of 520MB. Picture quality is the exact same (except for the resolution, since I reduced it down to 3200p, which is still very high anyway).

The files are PNG but contain obvious JPG artifacts. Converting the files to greyscale reduces the filesize to about 250mb. The raw is about the same resolution and a mere 21mb, because it doesn't have the jpg artifacts.

It's also almost the same resolution, but not exactly. 03 is 4449x6224, the raw's _003 is 4441x6213.

What the hell is dlsite even doing with these files?
