The beginning was so har to get trough. It was terribly accurate to those horrible, cliché, yet extremely popular, stories that women write for each other on AO3. It would surprise me if it wasn’t a rip-off from there. I know it’s not the writer's fault, and he was probably trying to imitate those stories, but god damn it, he did it scarily well.
