Paying homage to the Qing of all dynasties? Ming were more awesome, with all the rocketry, collapsible war carts and squad sized formations which resemble (edit: predate) modern elite police teams. Is that because someone is guilty about being the worst drug dealers of the 19th Century? is it because they looted more objects from this time period and it's easier to make an exhibition?

I'll read it, but I bet Tonio Andrade's Gunpowder Age is a much more relevant book about the time period and respective culture.

They are talking about the artistic aspects, @brazzil, not engineering or inventions.
That being said, this is the British Museum's collection, so yes, reason they likely chose the Qing: they have the most artifacts and pieces from this era and not any other.
At least they acknowledge WHY they have all this shit.
