Sure, the guy is a fool for not confessing his love, but the same goes for her. However, she is actually worse when you think about it, because she's getting married to a guy she cheated on instead of breaking it off and taking the initiative herself to be with the guy she actually wants. basically guy is too immature and got annoyed by her constantly asking for advice but if a girl is willing to have sex with you and asking advice to you is a bell ringer with obvious signs of trust and affection but since dude is immature not knowing. Author basically says in the afterword is that everyone is imperfect and no one of us is perfect because we may be good at one thing in life but the next thing we’re not. We learn in life and remember our mistakes be better the next time around. So maybe if there another chance come by Kazu and Rio will be together who knows? Because my time on earth taught me one thing is that Life isn’t complacent.

As pathetic scumbags they should had ended up together but maybe this is better as their punishment: Forever living with the guilty of their decisions.

A guy that does things by believing they are "adult" decisions and a girl that refuses to speak up her feelings because she's spineless.
Both are really shitty people. Our protagonist is a scumbag that not only knows that his friend has feelings for him but also he's aware she's cheating on her boyfriend with him and could care less. He's unable to accept he has feelings for her but the idea of being an adult is his excuse to not commit to anything. He knows she has a boyfriend so the "adult' thing is to stay as fuck buddies, he knows she's going to get married and is basically telling him to give her the yes to abandon everything for him but that's not what an "adult" would do. An "adult" would not interfere with her relationship because that's how things should be. He's unable to take responsibility of his actions by deluding himself that's he's doing the right thing never trying to leave his comfort zone.

The girl is a cheating scumbag that is wasting some unlucky dude's time and possible will continue to do during marriage. She's spineless unable to say a damn thing. Her body language gives away whatever she's thinking though but at the end she's unable to say a single thing with her mouth. Not the most loyal of chicks since she cheats straight cold on her boyfriend and fiancé (And in the same day he proposed damn) couldn't muster courage to confess but was able to somehow get a boyfriend to try to win the male lead... pathetic.

For both of them their lowest scene was when the landlady showed up. The trashy protagonist opened the door expecting the girl to have changed her mind and be open about it meanwhile the girl was outside probably waiting for the guy to chase her or something like that. It probably killed her inside to hear MC's shouting her name waiting for her and yet she left.
I wonder if they'll ever be happy.
