Calling foxlady kitsune is just weird. It literally means fox not fox-folk. It got the "ramen noodle" or "pulled noodle noodle" vibe of shitty word-borrowing but this time being insufficient rather than redundant.

@Martjn it's not shitty word borrowing in this case because even in japanese kitsune is frequently used to refer to fox ladies, look up 狐 on pixiv for reference, and compare the number of results to tags that do specify the lady part like 狐娘. In fact the whole concept of humans with fox ears and tail originally comes from folktales about shapeshifting foxes, and they were simply called kitsune in those because just looking human doesnt make them anything other than foxes (which happens to be the moral of many such tales).
