First of all I'd like to thank ALLOWS a lot for creating this incredibly hot piece of work! Also a big thank you to 村长个人汉化 (Village Chief) and Heartnsoul32 for providing their translations to the community!

This is the first translation I have attempted using Google translate. The translation was done on this Chinese version /g/2087239/4d4d9a4490/ cause somehow Google Lens produced better results with Chinese than with Japanese text...

*Disclaimer* I am not a native English speaker, nor do I have any grasp of the Chinese or Japanese language. Google translate produced a decent first draft as far as I can tell. Please share any constructive critisism you have to help improve the translation!

1. Don't translate from something that has already been translated. The more steps taken, the more gets lost.
2. Have some familiarity with the languages you're working with, because machines are prone to fucking things up badly.

Page 29 is a perfect example of why, as somehow you've turned something meaning "not particularly" into "Fuck!"

So you MTL'd this via a translation of a language you do not know rather than using the original raws (which were in a second language you do not know), into a third language you do not know.

Why? Seriously, why? If you just wanted to typeset, I'm sure you could have paid or asked for a translation from someone who actually does know *any* of the languages used.

Oh, this also doesn't appear to actually be Pierrot Mask 2, which can be found untranslated here: /g/1391170/6f6d1b8451/

So you even screwed up the title, adding additional confusion.

Thanks for your feedback. Most of your points are valid. The title has been updated to the correct one.

You both missed a couple of important points in my opinion:

1) There is no other English translation of this piece.
2) The quality of the translation is not very good, sure, but it's better than nothing. I assumed that sharing what I made for personal use would be beneficial for those out there who cannot read the originals. Something to get you by while we all wait for a proper translation.

Fair enough though, my assumption that this would help others was incorrect. I won't upload any more of these.

Btw a little constructive criticism for you, @woot5: Instead of trying not to be a dick, you could just write a less passive aggressive message next time ;)

I'm well aware that there isn't another English translation of this. That's the problem. By uploading this you generally decrease the chances of a higher quality release being done in the first place, because unless someone was already working on it they'll likely just see that it has been worked on and skip it.

Half of what makes corruption hot is the dialogue and difference between characters behavior before and after.

Actual translators who give a damn like darkknight, while at times taking a more liberal approach to editing, understand this and make a point of polishing what they've worked on.

By using MTL and giving the crudest of "just make it readable" once-overs, you've completely destroyed that facet of this work. I might as well just go read the raw, because nothing you've done has enhanced anything the original art wouldn't have been able to portray on its own.

@Lraglan: It would be a shame if me uploading this will reduce the chances of a high quality translation. Thanks for pointing this out as this was not my intention. Unfortunately, it seems there is no option to delete uploads :( Do you have any suggestions that can help fix this?

@woot5: Why do you keep assuming I had the worse intentions? Of course I 'give a damn' about the quality of the text. Why don't you just see what I did for what it is: an honest mistake made with good intentions. You could take a note from @LRaglan, they're pointing out the flaws in my reasoning without making any such assumptions. I hope you can see this way of communicating is a lot more effective.

"It's better than nothing" is the worst thing you can say and one of the big reason's people do not like MTL's.
There is no MTL tag, so many other translators will just see "oh there's already a translation done" and not translate it.
Meaning others will never get a proper translation to something they were looking forward to.

MTL's do more harm than good. A net negative on the whole community.

I really enjoy this a lot, just a suggestion for improvement. Pay attention to some typesetting aspects and avoid mentioning MTL (Google, some remarks on pictures, etc.). Make sure this is the finalized version without any elements that could create doubt for readers. It might lead people to think that this is not professional (of course, this is not professional work and not paid). I believe there is room for improvement, but you still need to proofread with actual Japanese skills.

I know it's not a paid project, and there's still a lot of room for improvement.
