@Klcy It's kinda both. In Part1 he uses a soul extraction gun to knock their souls out of their bodies ala Persona3, and jumps into the empty shell of her body, forcing her to get sucked into his body. So technically it is possession per se, but the end result is a bodyswap. Although the author does specifically use the term irekawari to refer to it at the start of Part2 here.
