The Making of Godzilla offers a glimpse inside that creative process, which seems at times more like a military operation than a movie set. Whatever your opinion of the end result, the combination of technology and old-fashioned hard work that went into the making of Godzilla is, in its own way

The main overall issue of 1998 movie is that it wasn't Godzilla movie. It was like Superman movie, but with said character having little to no traits resembling those of actual Superman. This movie would probably have far better reception, at least in some circles, if it was promoted for what it was and that being remake of 'The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms' from 1953.
